Where were YOU?

Recently, my friend Shellie put up an interesting post about 9/11 and made me think about that day and helped me to remember, (as if I could really forget). I posted this comment on her blog:

I was living at my little sister's home in Joliet, Il. temporarily while I was doing a travel RN job.
I had gotten up late, as I was able to sleep in(oh, how I miss those days)! I sat down with my breakfast in the living room and snapped on the TV. I heard newscasters talking about a terrible plane accident in NY, and I was shocked to see a gaping, burning hole in the side of a building. Then, I was horrified as I witnessed a 2nd plane fly around the building and slam into it's side. I was instantly terrified, as I deducted that this could NOT be a coincidence. I was on the phone calling my father in Chicago, begging him to leave work immediately. He had already started the process. For the next week, I sat glued to the TV and watched over and over again the terrible things that had happened that day. And I counted my blessings that I knew of no one remotely involved.
To this day though, I remember a TV station taking calls from people who were either in the buildings or who had first had accounts. I remember hearing a woman say that she was on one floor of the WTC building and that her husband worked on a higher level. Her floor was evacuated and she had called to tell her husband that his company should do the same. She hadn't been able to get a hold of him after that. I had always wanted to remember her name so I could check on the status of her loved one later, but , alas, it eludes me now. I DO remember that I recorded that bit on a vhs tape and someday I WILL find it and watch it and try to find out.
I have not forgotten.
I will NEVER forget.

Rain, Rain , fun

We are in Arizona. It's not supposed to rain THIS hard!
The other night, the storms rolled in and the thundar started. I was loving it! Then, the rains began. It rained and rained and rained!
London was so cute! She ran into the kitchen and was screaming in frustration! I could NOT figure out what she wanted from up on the counter. I finally lifted her up and told her to point to what she wanted. She grabbed the paper towel roll. "You want a paper towel??" "Yeah!"
I gave her one, and she ran straight for the patio door and proceeded to try to dry off the water that was pouring on to the window outside! Precious!
When it was evident that she was not going to beat the rain, she joined it! And then the rest of the pack joined her. They decided that it would be great fun to run outside and jump in the rapidly forming puddles while it was raining. (And while Mom was busy chatting with Auntie Rachel and Uncle Ryan) They got so wet and so muddy that they all decided that they needed to remove their clothes! My kids are such nudists! Lots of fun was had and baths followed!

Bumpy Ride

We decided to take the kids for a drive up to 4 peaks today. It was a really long and bumpy ride. Christian kept wailing from the back of the van, "I want to go home!" When asked why, he said, "Scawered of pokies". He was afraid that the big tall Saguaro cactus were going to tip over on him (while he was in the car). Cute. We did not make it to the top, but settled on a little turn off that had some rocks by it, and no cactus! The kids and Kalia were very excited to get out and explore thier surroundings. They did a great job of hiking up the small hill and avoiding the Pokie Bushes. Slept ALL the way home, little darlings!

My Dear Children

My little London , bless her soul, is just SO thoughtful. Even at the most tender age of 2.
She decided that our lonely little refrigerator in the condo needed some sprucing up. So she took a whole package of my scrapbooking bling gems and decorated the fridge with them. We had the sharpest looking fridge for a whole day! Precious!

Pay it Forward

Craftiness - paying it forward

This is from Shellie, now I'm "Paying It Forward".

"Here's how it works-the first 3 people to leave a comment on this post will receive, at some point during the year, a handmade gift from me. What it will be and when it will arrive is a total surprise! The catch is that you must participate as well-before you leave your comment here, write up a pay it forward post on your blog to keep the fun going. Then come back, let me know you're going to play, and sit back and anticipate the arrival of your gift! Remember that only the first 3 comments will receive a gift from me, so be quick!"I'll be waiting for your comments with bated breath to see who the lucky winners are....

CHRISTIAN!!

My sweet boy who is so patient in the bathroom:

(No..He is not falling in! Hee-hee! This is just how he likes to sit! So cute!)

But as cute as he is...He can drive me BATTY!!!
This morning, he disappeared. All the other kids were running around and dancing to the Lightning McQueen soundtrack, and Christian was just gone. Carey came down from work to get a soda and started yelling that the garage door ( from the house to the garage) was open. Then he gasped, and I heard him say, "Momma's not gonna like this!"

5 eggs on my garage floor. What a mess!! UGGG! When I asked him what he was doing with the eggs, he said "one, two, free, fo, fi!". "Did you want to eat the eggs?" "NO!"

So off he goes into time out while I grab the dog to help me clean up the mess.
(Which, by the way, she won't do. I need a new model, my dog model is tooo picky!).

So, while I am cleaning up the eggs, Christian is in timeout doing... THIS:

He is then brought up to his room to sit in time out.

While I pick up the leaves, I suddenly hear water running....I run upstairs to find him in the bathroom dumping out an entire bottle of Aveeno baby wash!! "AAGGGGGG!!!!!!", I scream.
"Whaaaaaaaa!", he screams.
And he is again put in his room.

After I got done cleaning everything up, I went back upstairs to talk to him.
He was laying down in his bed, covered up and just contemplating the ceiling. He looked like such and angel!

But I know the real truth! Heeheehee!!!

Dang ...Where is that devil costume when you need it!!
