Head Case

Well, the 2nd day without Daddy didn't go so well. I was faxing a paper to our realtor, and I heard a thud. I didn't think too much of it cause I hear lots of thuds with this crew. But then Connor came running down the hall crying and holding the back of his head. I figured that someone hit him or he bumped it on something. As I wrapped my arm around his little head to comfort him, I felt the warm wet feeling. As I pulled my arm away, I saw the ,gulp, blood coming out the back of his little head. I quickly put a towel on it and called for back up (my MIL). I cleaned up his head and when Violet came we decided that the 1/4 in gash was just wide enough and deep enough to take him to the ER. We were there for 3 hours. I had taken him to the cafeteria while we were waiting because it was lunch time. I gave him lots of choices of foods, even pizza. But he chose a large fruit cup, and said (in the presence of other people , i might add) "I'll have this fruit , Mama, cause fruit is real good for your body , right?" I was so proud of him! He did great in the ER. They gave me a cotton ball with some topical number on it that I had to hold on his head for 20 minutes. 40 minutes later, they came in and gave him 3 stitches. Never cried once. He was a little annoyed because he had to lie face down on the bed so the Dr could do the stitches and a nurse and I had to hold him down so he wouldn't move too much. But we distracted him with stickers and had him tell us all about the sticker images. He was so funny! The nurse showed him a picture of Spongebob, and asked him if he knew who that was. He answered correctly, and then she asked if he knew who Spongebobs best friend was. He said, " I don't know who his friend is. I don't like that show." We laughed so hard!
I wish I had pictures of him to post , but my camera is broken, so I don't. I am hoping we will be getting it fixed soon, as I am missing a lot of cute shots!

Hi Lisa! Thanks for the email about your blog. I'm not so hip yet. I have a feeling it's coming soon. Jon's sister blogs, so soon we'll need to keep up.

All that to say DANG!! You're doing very well with 4 really young ones by yourself, even for 4 days. And I CAN'T believe you have time to blog after the ER fiasco. Good for you!

Hope the last 2 days are a piece of cake in comparison!

Love & miss ya!

Conner is so funny. I thought that he would either do really good at the Hospital or freak out, but thats good to hear that he did so good and made everyone laugh. I don't think Carey is going to be allowed to leave anymore. Hang in there just a few more days!
